Description
“Orange Navel Washington “
Let’s start with the first peculiarity of this delicious variety of orange: inside it there is a small twin fruit. So if the orange has this characteristic, it belongs to the Citrus Sinensis variety. Considering this, we can say that both Navelina and Navelina belong to this type of fruit.
The ripening of the Navel orange depends mainly on the area in which it is grown. In the warm regions of Basilicata and Calabria, ripening takes place between October and December. Late in the season, the orange reaches higher sugar levels and presents itself with a juicier and sweeter pulp.
Navel Washington oranges are a special type of Navel orange, highly sought after for their characteristics. Their taste is very pleasant and caresses the palate, the pulp is blond and seedless. Perfect for those who don’t like the acidity of oranges, because the taste actually seems very sweet. Unlike other Sicilian varieties, this type of orange has a very sugary pulp and a very intense aroma. It contains a high vitamin content inside and is a type of orange that needs very specific climatic factors to grow properly. The soil in which it is grown is also fundamental to the characteristic final taste. It is a very rare variety that is often not found on the market.
